Home › Knowledge Base › Excavator Alarm But Runs Fine? It's Usually Just a Pressure Sensor
Short answer: Alarms ringing while the machine works perfectly normally — suspect the sensor, not the system. Real faults come with real symptoms (weakness, heat, noise). Symptom-free alarms are almost always a drifting pressure/temperature sensor or a corroded connector, and they cost little to fix.

Alarm → what to check first

Intermittent water/air pressure alarmsCorroded connectors, chafed harness to groundFix wiring before buying sensors

Two quick verification tricks

Boundary: alarm + real symptoms (weakness, heat, noise) = a genuine fault — chase the symptoms, not just the sensor.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a sensor?

Model- and signal-type-dependent — send the alarm code plus machine model for an instant answer.

Can I just mute the alarm and keep working?

Not recommended — muting can hide a real fault. Spend the small money to prove it's false first.

Bleed air after replacing a sensor?

Usually not needed; snug it back in, a few drops of oil/coolant at the port are normal.
